Kathy Hilton Shares an Impressive Family Update
The former RHOBH friend shared the news while gushing over Paris Hilton's 8-month-old son, Phoenix.
The youngest Hilton family member is making a splash — and Kathy Hilton couldn’t be any prouder.
Fresh off her trip to New York Fashion Week, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills friend returned to the red carpet for a star-studded gala at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Kathy, who was accompanied by her husband, Richard Hilton, took some time to speak to reporters and shared a quick update on Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum — the 8-month-old son of Kathy’s oldest child, Paris Hilton.
The Beverly Hills socialite gushed over her grandson and revealed he was already learning an important life skill.
“We just had our first swimming lesson a few weeks ago,” the socialite told E! News at the 2023 Elizabeth Taylor Ball to End AIDS event. “He’s getting so blond. He’s like this string bean — so cute.”
Kathy went on to say that she and her family have started preparing for Phoenix’s first holiday season, and were “working on some very exciting things for Christmas.
“Christmas pillows and little stockings and hopefully a few other things,” she said.

But Kathy’s doting didn’t stop there. Before heading into the September 21 charity gala, the mother of four spoke to People magazine about Paris’ new role as a mom.
“I’ve never seen my daughter happier in her life. I’ve never seen her so happy,” she revealed. “[Paris is] always very upbeat and very even keel. She’s never moody.”
Kathy said Paris was so grateful to have found her “special partner in life,” referring to the heiress’ venture capitalist husband, Carter Reum, whom she married in 2021.
“And then to have this baby, I think she’s just over the moon,” she added.

Paris and Carter welcomed Phoenix via surrogacy back in January, and introduced him to Kathy shortly after. The Hilton matriarch recalled the moment during a March interview with Extra, admitting she was completely caught off guard when Paris revealed the family addition.
“I was in shock, I was in complete shock,” Kathy said. “We didn’t have our Christmas together because she was working out of the country. [Paris] said, ‘I have a surprise for you,’ and it was my Christmas present. Then she waited a few minutes and goes, ‘I have one more surprise for you.’”
Kathy said Paris left the room and returned moments later with something wrapped in a blanket.
“She walks in, blanket falls down, and I just go, ‘Who is this? What is this?’” Kathy said about the first time she laid eyes on Phoenix. “He is such a little angel, getting heavy and heavier every few days.”
