Kate Chastain Reacts to Bri’s “Burn Book”: “The Laundry Room Can Really Break You” (VIDEO)
The Below Deck alum had a surprising take on Below Deck Mediterranean stew Bri Muller's buzzed-about notebook.
Bri Muller and Elena "Ellie" Dubaich's ongoing drama took a surprising turn on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9, Episode 8, when Ellie discovered Bri's notebook filled with, as Ellie described it, "a whole list of crimes I committed in laundry."
Although Aesha Scott was shocked by the book, Below Deck alum and former chief stew Kate Chastain understands where Bri is coming from.
On the Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9 After Show, Aesha explained that a laundry log is "common" but typically includes "just the real basics."
"Like, 'This went in the machine,' 'This got taken back,'" she said. "You don't, like, add your own comments in."
However, Kate declared, "I did."
"Let me just explain," Kate continued in the video above. "I didn't talk sh-t about my crew. Here's what is going on with Bri: A laundry room has no windows. Maybe a small port hole that's usually covered. They are locked there basically for hours. It's not a natural human situation. If you don't have music or anything, things can get weird pretty quickly. You can get cabin fever. People are just walking by dropping off their dirty stuff. And then you hear them in the crew mess, and they're eating food, all the deckhands, 'Oh wasn't the snorkeling gorgeous? All of the fish.' It's an insane asylum for a little bit."
She declared, "The laundry room can really break you, and then all you've got is this log."

"You don't even get to be alone with your thoughts...You're hearing other people, but you're not, but they're not talking to you," she added.
Kate concluded, "I don't even blame Bri that much for the laundry log burn book."
Aesha seemed to reconsider the whole situation, stating, "That's a really great perspective."
Bri Muller shares more details on her "burn book" laundry log
As Ellie explained on the After Show, she was immediately taken aback when she found the notebook.
"I don't see why she would be logging these things if she wasn't intending to use it against me," she said. "Why would she be logging her own mistakes?"
In the After Show video above, Bri admitted that she started a more detailed laundry log because she was "suspicious of Ellie."
Echoing Kate's point, she later admitted, "I was going crazy. It was almost like a diary."
However, Bri also felt that Ellie's lack of note-taking made her job harder, explaining, "She wouldn't take notes about, like, what she had done or whatever, and I'd walk into the room and be like, 'What the f-ck?"
