Your Hair Can Now Be as Iconic as Karen Huger's Tresses
The #RHOP grand dame is putting her mark on the hair industry.
Last season of The Real Housewives of Potomac, we saw Gizelle Bryant kickstart her new cosmetics line. Now her castmate Karen Huger might just have the perfect thing to finish off your look.
The RHOP grand dame recently launched the Icon Hair Collection, a line of high-quality extensions to give you the best 'do possible. "It’s a joy that I’ve wanted to bring to the market for many years so I finally sat down and put it together," Karen told Rolling Out about her latest business venture in June. "It’s been in the works for about two years. I partnered up with Beauty Bundles by Beholder EL and we started this venture to bring another accessory to women to empower them and give them hair that actually allows them to be the best version of themselves."
Karen told the website that the quality of the pieces and having suppliers from all over the world are what set her hair company apart from the rest. "This collection features 100% Virgin Indian, Peruvian and Cambodian hair," she recently shared on Instagram.
Karen admits that her coif last season of RHOP could have used some sprucing up. She told Rolling Out that she did not wear any hair from her new collection last season. "Oh, God, no! Did you not watch my story? I was not thinking about my looks," she explained. "I was actually empty nesting. All I was thinking about was my child going off to college and having no babies at home. I was living in my moment like most women in my situation at this point in their lives. I certainly was not thinking about how I looked."
We saw Karen get ready to say goodbye to her daughter Rayvin last season as she prepared to start her freshman year of college. But it was Karen beginning a new chapter of her life that actually inspired the name of the collection. "Every woman is an icon in her own right. It was all about rebirthing and feeling that power again. I had been an at home mom for the last 19 years and loved every bit of it, but [starting Icon Hair Collection] was absolutely a rebirth for me," she told Rolling Out. "I felt very iconic when I put this together because it’s about enhancing beauty. Every woman deserves to feel beautiful. This hairline allows them to enhance their true beauty, so it’s iconic in that sense."
