Kandi Burruss' Daughter Riley Burruss Just Applied to College at Her “Dream School”
The RHOA mama confirmed her daughter's big future plans.
Riley Burruss is growing up! Her mom, Kandi Burruss, confirmed that The Real Housewives of Atlanta teen is knee-deep in college prep.
"I’m super proud of my daughter, Riley," Kandi told Us Weekly. "She just sent in her college application to her dream school. I’m praying that it all goes well."
In addition to filling out college applications, Riley has become quite the social activist, stepping out to speak most recently at an event for youth empowerment, alongside the one and only Jane Fonda. "It was an honor speaking on the youth panel at [GCAPP] with other inspirational teens. Thank you for having me!" she shared on Instagram about appearing at the event for the organization, which is "committed to enriching the lives of adolescents and helping them achieve a healthy, productive future."
Riley has certainly been working hard in between classes to make her dreams come true. She's interned at a law firm after previously expressing interest in being a lawyer and spent the summer of 2018 at Stanford University in California for the Envision Law and Trial program, which lets talented high school students explore the legal field.
In fact, law has always been top of mind for Kandi when it comes to a career path for Riley. "To be an attorney, I really always wanted that for her," Kanid told The Daily Dish in 2018. "When I tell you, everybody sees shy Riley on TV but Riley at home, she will debate you and argue you down. She's one of those people who has to win every discussion and she comes with facts and back to back to back until you're like 'OK, Riley.' She's one of those people. So I always told her, 'You need to be a lawyer.' She's a master negotiator and now she's finally saying herself that she wants to be a lawyer. So I'm hoping that that stays the case. She's gonna go to Stanford [University] for a week this summer for a little program they're having for high schoolers who are thinking about law. So she will be there for a week. So I hope she enjoys it and so we can keep pushing her in that direction."
