Kandi Burruss' BFF Reveals Wedding Secrets
Carmon Cambrice opens up about her "very emotional" nuptials.
Kandi Burruss' recent nuptials are getting featured on her special, Kandi's Wedding, which kicked off last night, but in the meantime, maid of honor Carmon Cambrice is sharing secrets of the ceremony.
"This wasn't your everyday wedding—this was a fairy tale wedding," Carmon tells The Dish. "The best point in the wedding was to watch Kandi walk down the aisle. It was very emotional."
Carmon, who has been friends with Kandi for almost 30 years, says their deep connection made the ceremony so much more powerful. "I always say that Kandi and I could just look at each other and know what the other one was feeling," says Carmon. "When she looked at me I couldn't hold back the tears of joy I knew she was the happiest she has ever been. She was beaming and their love filled the room."
Carmon adds that serving as her maid of honor was "a huge honor but also a huge responsibility." As both Kandi's BFF and assistant, Carmon understandably felt the pressure. "I often thought that if things were less than perfect, it would affect my friendship."
The pair has managed to not let Mama Joyce's accusation of an affair between Carmon and Kandi's now-husband
Todd Tucker come between them but that didn't make things any less awkward for her that day. "I knew that I would have to come face-to-face with Kandi's mom and aunts, which wasn’t a pleasant feeling. Knowing that in the end I would witness my best friend marry made it all worth it."
