Below Deck Sailing Yacht's Jenna MacGillivray Hooked up with Georgia Grobler's Ex
Georgia Grobler called Adam Glick out for his "s--t" reaction to this revelation.
If there's one thing we've learned from all of the Below Deck franchises over the years, it's that the yachting industry is a very small world. Nothing has exemplified that more than what was just revealed on Below Deck Sailing Yacht.
In the April 6 episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, we found out that Jenna MacGillivray and Georgia Grobler have more in common than just working in the interior. Apparently, Jenna has also hooked up with Georgia's ex-boyfriend, Johan. Though the two only dated for a couple of months, according to Jenna, they did squeeze in a trip to Universal Studios that was documented on social media, in addition to, you know, the hookup.
Johan was only one of two relationships Georgia said she has had in her life, but even so, she didn't really seem bothered by the fact that he had gotten with Jenna after they broke up. "My relationship with Johan was really significant, but I just treat people like s--t, and he let me. So our relationship ended," Georgia said in an interview during the episode. "Good for him. Thanks, Jenna. I don't know. I just think it's bizarre."
Georgia gave more details on the coincidence during an interview with The Daily Dish in March, sharing that his hookup with Jenna happened many years after she and Johan dated. "It was just funny because what are the f--king chances?" Georgia said. "So then I go up to Jenna, I’m like, 'Oh my gosh, we’re different demographics, different countries, everything’s different. And you and I have shagged the same person, isn’t that funny?' And then to her it was hilarious, and it was funny."
We saw in the episode that Jenna immediately burst into laughter when she heard that she had hooked up with Georgia's ex in the past. But one person who definitely wasn't laughing over this fun fact was Adam Glick, with whom Jenna has become romantically involved this season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht.
The chef quickly left the crew mess after Jenna revealed this part of her romantic history during the episode. "It makes me f--king sick to my stomach," Adam later said to Georgia as she joked about her and Jenna's similar taste in men. "It's disgusting."
Georgia told The Daily Dish that she was disappointed to see Adam react in this way. "When Adam overheard it, he got his back up about it and then made her feel like she should be ashamed about something in her past," Georgia recalled. "And I just think that’s s--t."
According to Georgia, how Adam handled this information about Jenna's past romantic history doesn't set "a good precedent" in their relationship, which is still fairly new this season. "Adam had a bit too much of a hold on Jenna," Georgia said of their relationship. "I do notice slight changes in Jenna’s character and her appeasing Adam more so than standing her own ground."
