Jeana Keough's Daughter Kara Bosworth Shares Her First Child's Birth Story
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum's daughter is currently expecting baby No. 2.
It seems like just yesterday Kara Bosworth was welcoming her first child. Kara, who is the daughter of The Real Housewives of Orange County OG Jeana Keough and is married to husband Kyle Bosworth, gave birth to daughter Decker Kate Bosworth on Thursday, January 21, 2016. Now, in 2020, Decker is 4 years old and Kara and Kyle are expecting another little one in April!
In honor of Decker's birthday, Kara looked back on the day her daughter was born, and revealed some little-known details about the big day in Instagram Stories — starting with the fact her water actually broke well in advance of Decker making her big arrival.
"[Four] years ago today, I put my hospital bag in my trunk to go to my 38 week appt. I felt my water broke 6 days prior even though they didn't quite believe me," she wrote. "Then when they went to check for dilation, they remarked, 'Your waters. They're gone.' To which, I replied, 'Oh ya those have been gone for 6 days, your litmus papers were negative and the on-call doc didn't want to come in to check for ferning, so here we are!"
Kara continued, "Needless, to say. Despite all my plans, I was to be induced immediately. And they pretty much just humored me and let me use a breast pump while they got the pitocin ready. It worked a bit, so I really wish I had the time to do more before they started pushing the 'pit.' I was upset to already have a medical intervention from the get-go. But I tried to pretend I wasn't scared for my baby. I didn't even know contractions CAME that long. But hey, that's pitocin for ya."
And despite all the surprises of labor, Kara and Kyle got the ultimate gift when sweet baby Decker was born. In fact, Kara called it "still the happiest day of our lives." Check out Decker as a newborn and a 4-year-old, below.
