Brittany Cartwright's Health Scare and "Stroke-Like Symptoms"
Speaking to his castmates on House of Villains, Jax revealed that shortly after he was eliminated from the show, he got word that Brittany was in the hospital after she had collapsed.
"I made it out there and I got a phone call, ‘Here, Jax, take the phone. Your wife’s in the hospital,'" he recalled. "She’s, like, crying on the phone. She's like, 'I don't want you to leave the show, but I just want to let you know I'm in the hospital.'"
Naturally, Jax started to fear the worst. As he put it, "I’m panicking ... So I raced to Cedars, stayed there for two nights, making sure that my wife doesn’t have cancer, doesn’t have spinal issues, doesn’t have MS. Turns out, she had a small stroke. She’s 33."
Jax later clarified his comments on his and Brittany's podcast, noting, "We didn’t know what it was. The doctors didn’t really know what it was. But it was stroke-like symptoms ... so I just assumed it was a stroke."
"I obviously didn’t mean it, but it’s what it resembles," Jax added. "So I apologize."
How Brittany Cartwright Is Doing Today After Her Health Scare
Before sharing an update on her health during Kristen's podcast, Brittany shared more details about her experience. "All of the sudden, I started getting numbness in my right arm and my right leg, to the point where I couldn’t even hold my cell phone anymore. And it got really scary because it was happening out of nowhere.”
“It was just a really scary time," she continued. "They didn’t know what was going on with me. They thought that maybe I had early signs of MS, or maybe a small stroke, so I had to have MRIs on my brain and on my spine. And I had to have CAT scans."
“Everything, thank God, came back clean, so we still don’t know what’s going on," Brittany concluded. "But I haven’t had the numbness since that day, or anything."
