Was Shep Rose Really the "Worst Guest" at Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright's Wedding?
The Valley couple clarified their comments about Shep's conduct at their 2019 ceremony.
Shep Rose has nothing but love for Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor — even if they called him the “worst wedding guest” ever.
The Southern Charm-er revisited the comments during the February 8 episode of When Reality Hits, a podcast series hosted by Brittany and her husband, Jax. About 14 minutes into their conversation, Shep joked about attending the couple’s televised wedding in Kentucky and how he “tried to screw [it] up.” Shep’s light-hearted remark stemmed from a 2020 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen when Jax and Brittany slammed Shep’s behavior at their ceremony.
“He was talking. He was videoing. Yes, he was the worst guest ever,” Jax told host Andy Cohen. “I told him. He knows.”

Brittany Cartwright explains why she put Shep Rose on blast
Well, nearly five years after the celebration, Brittany and Jax clarified their comments and insisted Shep’s wedding guest conduct wasn’t as "bad" as many people thought.
“I was actually gonna talk to you about that because you didn’t actually screw up anything,” Brittany said during the interview. “We were put on the spot on Watch What Happens Live. Andy said something like, ‘Who was the worst wedding guest?’ And you just came to my mind immediately because you posted me walking down the aisle."
Of course, taking pictures and videos at a wedding is common practice; however, Brittany and Jax revealed they had inked an exclusive first-look deal with a popular magazine. As part of the agreement, guests were supposed to limit their social media posts during the celebration, but Brittany admittedly failed to communicate those restrictions.
“I didn’t know the wedding was brought to you by Pepsi or something,” Shep sarcastically replied.
Jax Taylor reveals if he's "cool" with Shep Rose today
“No, no, it wasn’t. It was just they had the exclusive,” Brittany explained. “I know, I should have said something and told people, but that’s the only reason we said that. It wasn’t anything bad… You guys know how I am, I don’t want to hurt anybody’s feelings. People took that so far, like, ‘Shep was the worst wedding guest at the wedding!’ And I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, it wasn’t even that serious.'”
Jax also made it clear he had no hard feelings toward the Charleston bachelor: “Hey, listen, the check still cleared, so we’re cool,” he reassured Shep.
The Vanderpump Rules and Southern Charm OGs developed a friendship back in 2018 after they met during a joint appearance on WWHL.
"How many times have we done Watch What Happens Live together? Two or three times, yeah," Jax said before referencing his and Brittany's upcoming show. "Well, hopefully, we'll do them again because you know we're coming back."
Shep Rose has some thoughts on The Valley trailer
The Southern Charm-er also shared his reaction to the first trailer for The Valley, an upcoming Bravo series that focuses on a group of friends navigating life in the suburbs. The show will explore Jax and Brittany’s post-Vanderpump Rules life and their new roles as parents/business owners.
“I’m happy for you guys,” Shep said about the series promo. “I thought it looked great.”
The Valley will premiere this spring on Bravo and will feature fellow Vanderpump Rules alum Kristen Doute.
