We Have an Update on Courtney Veale and Mzi “Zee” Dempers
The Below Deck Mediterranean alumni are gearing up for their "next adventure together."
Courtney Veale is sending love to her fellow yachtie Mzi “Zee” Dempers.
On Sunday, September 24, the Below Deck Mediterranean alum shared not one, not two, but three heartwarming posts in honor of Zee’s birthday. The first Instagram Story was a throwback clip of the former castmates hanging out together in Cape Town, South Africa. The two recorded themselves driving around Zee’s hometown while delivering a cute and enthusiastic rendition of Lady Gaga's "Shallow."
“Crash into summer,” Courtney wrote in the Story, which showed Zee behind the wheel as they both sang their hearts out.
Courtney went on to wish “angel boy” Zee a happy belated birthday before teasing their upcoming reunion.
“Can’t wait for our next adventure together to mexicoooooo!” she added.
Courtney Veale tells Zee Dempsey "to never ever change"
The Welsh native continued her walk down memory lane by sharing some photos of her and Zee’s Below Deck Med days and a few snaps of their off-season get-togethers.
“Wishing out another year of love happiness and drunken antics, LYSM (love you so much),” she captioned one post.
“Plz for the worlds sake never ever change!” she wrote in another, which featured a photo of Zee with Captain Sandy Yawn. “See you soon.”
How Courtney Veale and Zee Dempsey Met
Courtney and Zee were introduced to each other during Season 6 of Below Deck Med, when they worked as a stewardess and deckhand, respectively. They reunited on the Home vessel in the following season, which saw Courtney transition from the interior to the lead deckhand position.
Romance rumors swirled around the yachties throughout their time on Below Deck Med, as they would regularly express their fondness for one another and even shared a few kisses; however, Courtney and Zee never went official, despite growing pleas from the viewers.

Courtney addressed the relationship during an October 2022 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where she was asked if she and Zee “had any kind of romantic connection” while filming Season 7.
“No, nothing,” she said, prompting a collective sigh from the audience. “I know! But we’re, like, best friends… Everyone wants us to get married and have babies. But at the moment, we’re just best friends.”
Courtney made similar comments during a September 2022 interview with Cheat Sheet, saying she and Zee put a halt on their PDA in the interest of their friendship.
“No … no more kissing,” she explained. “Literally, the last kiss we had was probably the second time we did it on Season 6. We just have such an amazing friendship. I’m so glad nothing else kind of happened from that season because I do feel like I would have lost him as a friend.”
She continued: “We are great friends and he’s a massive part of my life. I like to think that I’m a big part of his and we speak nearly every day. And it was really nice to have him on that season and for our friendship to grow and for everyone to see the kind of friendship that we have kind of formed in Season 6. And also, he was like my safety blanket.”
