Gretchen Rossi Shares How Slade Smiley Has Adjusted to Being the Dad of a "Little Princess"
After being the father of two boys, the RHOC alum's fiance is now getting a lesson in being a dad to a daughter.
Skylar Gray is The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Gretchen Rossi's first child — but she is Gretchen's fiancé's Slade Smiley's third. The two welcomed daughter Skylar on July 10 after conceiving with IVF following a long struggle with infertility. Needless to say, the two are overjoyed and soaking up every moment with their baby girl.
And for Slade, the transition from "boy dad" (he is the father of sons Gavin and Grayson) to "girl dad" has actually been pretty seamless, according to Gretchen.
Accompanying a sweet picture and video of Slade holding Skylar, Gretchen wrote, "Daddy and his little princess! [9 weeks] tomorrow. I wanted nothing more then to have a little girl, I prayed and asked the Lord to bless us with her because of moments and videos like these.....I knew this would be the case if Slade had a little girl!"
She explained, "He treats me like a Queen and loves and adores me so much, I just could not wait to see how he would be with our little girl. I already knew what a wonderful father he was because of how he is with his boys, but I have fallen more and more in love with him again seeing how much of a devoted, loving father he is to his little girl. (oh and he helps change diapers and feeds her in the middle of the night so I can get sleep)."
Gretchen concluded her post: "I am living my dream, with the most incredible man and now the most precious sweetest gift I have ever been given."
Skylar's oldest brother, Gavin, got married in May. And Skylar's middle name, Gray, pays tribute to her other brother, Grayson, who is still fighting a battle with brain cancer after being diagnosed in 2006.
