Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley Almost Got Married at Their Baby Shower
The RHOC mom-to-be was already wearing white, and there was an ordained pastor at the party.
Gretchen Rossi's baby shower was definitely an over-the-top affair. The Real Housewives of Orange County alum's big day included appearances from Real Housewives, an "exquisite" grazing table, and a luxurious dessert spread. In fact, the day was so opulent, Gretchen and her fiancé, Slade Smiley, who became engaged in Season 8 in 2013, considered turning the festivities into their wedding. There was even an ordained pastor among the guests! But alas, it seems that day is still TBD.
“We’re not getting married, I hate to burst your bubble,” Gretchen said, according to PEOPLE. “Yes, my dress is white. And we thought about it for a very small second and then I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be fun to have another big party?’"
Gretchen and Slade's baby girl, Skylar Gray, is due in July. This is the first child for Gretchen and Slade's third child; he is already a father to sons Gavin and Grayson.
Gretchen and Slade did not have an easy road becoming pregnant with their daughter. The couple started IVF four years ago but lost 14 embryos after the first round. Slade also underwent a reverse vasectomy. After an embryo was able to be implanted, the couple announced the pregnancy in December and revealed they would be welcoming a baby girl during an epic gender reveal party in February.
