New Atlanta Housewife Drew Sidora Reveals a Surprising Connection to Gizelle and Jamal Bryant
The RHOA newbie knew the couple before The Real Housewives of Potomac.
Drew Sidora may be the newest addition to The Real Housewives of Atlanta, having joined the cast in the current Season 13, but she actually goes way back with another Housewife.
During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on January 3, Drew revealed that she used to attend the church where Gizelle Bryant served as First Lady while married to Pastor Jamal Bryant. "She was, when I did Step Up, I was in Baltimore," Drew recalled on WWHL. "And I was attending their church every Sunday for like six months."
Gizelle shed some light on her life as First Lady during an interview with The Daily Dish in 2018 (clip above), sharing that one of the things she misses most about that time is the philanthropy. "I did a lot of charity work overseas in South Africa. I helped adopt an orphanage. I helped start a school there," she said. "So those kinds of things I really do miss, like me touching and feeling and helping the community I really miss. So I try to do it my way with my kids now."
However, Gizelle admitted that who she was back then was a little different from the woman we see on The Real Housewives of Potomac today. "I knew that being married to a pastor, I was looked upon to be a certain type of person, like I couldn't go off on anybody," she explained. "When people came to me with all their problems and issues, I just had to be like, 'God bless you.' I couldn't say, 'I don't care, 'cause it ain't my business,' which is what I would do now."
Gizelle's time as First Lady came to an end after she and Jamal divorced more than a decade ago. But Gizelle announced at the RHOP Season 4 reunion, which aired in September 2019, that she and Jamal had gotten back together. Their rekindled romance became a major topic of conversation throughout Season 5 of RHOP and at the reunion, which aired last month.
On WWHL, Drew said that she had run into Jamal, who is now the pastor of a church in Georgia, in the airport in Atlanta, where "he shared with me that they were back together." "Oh my gosh, I know Pastor Jamal, and he loves this woman. He loves this woman," Drew said of Gizelle and Jamal's relationship. "I know a lot of their history, and I believe they really are together and in love."
Gizelle similarly showed her support for Drew, revealing in the December 13 episode of Bravo's Chat Room that she was "loving" the RHOA newcomer and that she had Drew's back when it came to her marital issues with husband Ralph Pittman in Season 13. Check it out, below.
