Below Deck Just Got Nominated for 2 Emmys
Below Deck is up for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program and Outstanding Picture Editing for an Unstructured Reality Program.
On Tuesday (July 13) the Television Academy announced the nominees for the 2021 Emmy Awards, and it was revealed that Below Deck has earned two nominations. The series, which wrapped up its eighth season this past February, is up for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program and Outstanding Picture Editing for an Unstructured Reality Program.
“Being part of Below Deck since the beginning has been a wild ride that has been filled with many surprises. Finding out today that we received two Emmy nominations is the most exciting surprise yet. I’m extremely humbled to be a small part of the talented team that actually makes this show what it is and I’m so very proud of everyone," Captain Lee told The Daily Dish in a statement.
In both categories it goes up against Deadliest Catch, Life Below Zero, Naked And Afraid, and RuPaul's Drag Race Untucked.
Season 8 of Below Deck followed Captain Lee Rosbach and his crew as they handled drama on the high seas aboard the My Seanna in the Caribbean.
Bravo's Top Chef is also up for a handful of awards at the 2021 event, including Outstanding Competition Program, Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured Reality or Competition Program, Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program, Outstanding Directing for a Reality Program, and Padma Lakshmi, Tom Colicchio, and Gail Simmons have also been nominated for Outstanding Host for a Reality Competition Program. Last Chance Kitchen was also nominated for Outstanding Short Form Nonfiction or Reality Series.
