The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member has been working hard in the gym.

Emily Simpson is no stranger to the gym: Since her weight loss, which she also attributes to Ozempic use, The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member regularly lets her Instagram followers in on her difficult workouts.
In her latest update, the mom of three posted a booty-centric video, which had fans cheering her on.
“I love COMBO workouts,” Emily wrote alongside the February 28 video, which showed her squatting and doing tricep extensions on a cable machine while wearing a fiery red sports bra and black leggings. “This is working triceps plus glutes.” She tagged her trainer, Paulina Stein, who was also responsible for filming the sizzling video.
But as good as she's gotten at combination workouts, it's been a journey for her to get there.
Emily Simpson's 40-Pound Weight Loss
In September 2023, Emily took a moment to reflect on how far she’s come during her fitness journey.
“Around age 42 I gained 40 pounds and it wasn’t until now (age 47) that I was able to finally get it off and feel like my old self again,” she wrote alongside a slideshow of photos depicting her body transformation.
“Just to be clear though… I rocked a bathing suit on TV for 5 years and never felt ugly or not-confident in myself or my body. Not once. I am the strongest (mentally and physically) right now … at age 47 …and I will continue to improve myself daily. My only competition is Me,” she continued. “Thank you for following this journey with me and for those of you who are always kind and comment positive things … I appreciate you! For the haters out there.. I love you too! You motivate me daily to lift harder and eat better.”
Emily Simpson's Ozempic Use
Emily spoke with Us Weekly about using Ozempic as part of her weight loss journey in July 2023.
“We finished filming in November [2022] and I remember we filmed the title cards and our showrunner sent a photo of me that he took with his cell phone. And honestly, I didn’t even recognize myself,” she told the publication. “I was like, ‘Who is that?’ And then I was like, ‘Oh, that’s me.’ I really neglected myself those four months that we were filming. I ate too much, drank too much, didn’t go to the gym, didn’t work out and I felt really down, really depressed, really dark when we finished filming.”
The experience prompted Emily to undergo a full blood panel during a doctor’s appointment, during which her doctor suggested trying Ozempic or a similar semaglutide.
“At that time I didn’t even know what Ozempic was honestly,” she shared. “The doctor was just like, ‘Oh, there’s this new weight loss drug and it’s just been FDA approved and it’s great. I think it would really help you lose some weight and you’ll feel better and you’ll be able to get working out again and feeling more like yourself.’ And I was like, ‘OK, sounds great.’ Anyway, I did that in December. It was great for my diet. It really just kickstarted me into eating better and eating healthier ’cause it makes you feel like crap ’cause nothing tastes good.”
Emily Simpson's Exercise Routine While on Ozempic
In addition, Emily continued her exercise regimen. “I cut out a lot of things and I go to the gym seven days a week and work out. I work out like I’m training for a fitness competition. … That’s kind of the whole story,” she told Us Weekly in July.
“The thing that bothers me the most is that when people comment on the way that I look, they constantly say, ‘Ozempic, Ozempic.’ And it’s like, yes, I did use that nine months ago or however many months ago it was, but I don’t like that it discounts all the hard work I put in," she continued. "I don’t care if you say that all you want, but at least gimme credit for seven days a week, getting up at 6 a.m. every morning and busting my butt in the gym every single day.”
Is Emily Simpson planning to do a fitness competition?
During an Instagram AMA in September 2023, a user asked Emily if she has ever considered doing a competition of exhibition, like her RHOC castmate Tamra Judge.
“Have you thought about a fitness competition?” they wrote. “Take Tamra's crown?”
Emily’s response? “I've thought about it but I don't think so."
She noted that many such competitions require a great deal of discipline in terms of both diet and exercise, and she worried it might be psychologically damaging for her.
Emily Simpson Says She’s Not “Too Skinny”
That same month, she shared a photo of herself working out at the gym and shared a message that was addressed to her “friends and haters.”
"All you fools commenting that I'm 'too skinny' please replace the word 'skinny' with 'FAF,'" she wrote over the snapshot, further adding what exactly "FAF" means: "And that, my friends, stands for Fit as Fu-k."
