Ramona Says There's Something "Deep-Rooted" Behind Dorinda and Tinsley's Drama

Dorinda Medley is going through a lot in RHONY Season 12, according to Ramona Singer.

By Laura Rosenfeld

If you were at all confused as to why Dorinda Medley and Tinsley Mortimer got into it during The Real Housewives of New York City Season 12 premiere on April 2, Ramona Singer is here to break it down for you.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New York City on Bravo Tuesdays at 9/8c and stream next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

Ramona provided some insight into what's going on with Dorinda this season of RHONY while speaking via video chat on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen: @ Home on April 2. "Well, this season, as you can tell from the trailer, Dorinda gets very angry at me, at Leah [McSweeney], at mostly everyone. She has a lot of issues this year that I think are deep-rooted about something else going on," Ramona explained. "So you have to see how we deal with it. It's a continuation in her storyline. We all have these emotional problems, and that's one of her situations."

Like Ramona said, this season of RHONY definitely appears to be an emotional one for Dorinda, judging by the trailer. In one moment we see her admit with tears in her eyes, "I pretended like everything was OK." Ramona can also be seen telling Sonja Morgan that "something is really bothering Dorinda."

However, it doesn't look like Dorinda will be receptive to Ramona's help in another instance. "We want to help you, don't you understand?" an audibly emotional Ramona tells Dorinda in the trailer. "You have a problem, and we want to help you. You're not getting it."

Ramona said that she has come to realize that's just how Dorinda operates in these intense moments during an interview with DailyMailTV earlier this week. "With Dorinda, when she goes from 0-100 in 1 minute, I've learned, there's no talking to her. The more you try to reason with her, the angrier she gets," she said. "And then, the next day, she feels very, um, remorseful."

But Ramona noted that this season of RHONY is all about gaining a greater understanding of her friend. "We all love Dorinda and we're all trying to get to the bottom of who she is," Ramona told DailyMailTV. "And you'll have to watch the show to see if we get to the bottom of it or not."

Dorinda explained during a recent interview with PEOPLE that she "had an emotional year." "I was going through a lot of changes that were really taking a toll in my personal life," she said.

She admitted that her “sort of no-bulls--t attitude” contributed to a lot of conflict with her fellow New York Housewives this season. "I am sort of a person that takes in a lot and holds it in. And I think if I were to redo it, I would have expressed more about what I was going through to my castmates," Dorinda explained. "But I was vulnerable, and it definitely made me more reactive. I just I didn’t have any time for a fairy tale.”
