Denise Richards' "Toxic" Legal Issues with Charlie Sheen Featured in RHOBH Season 10 Premiere
The RHOBH cast member opens up about her legal issues with her ex-husband.
Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen may have divorced in 2006, but they were in the middle of ongoing legal drama over child support while she was filming Season 10 The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which was featured in the season premiere on April 15.
In the midst of a trip to NYC for Fashion Week, Denise was dealing with a legal matter with her ex-husband with whom she shares two teen daughters, Sam and Lola.
"I want to give you a little heads up about something. It's going to piss you off. He responded publicly," Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave tells Denise in the episode about a reported child support matter at the time of filming.
In his statement about the matter, Charlie called her, in part, a "coward," according to Teddi.
"I've been called worse by him. Actually, that's tame," Denise says. "He hasn't paid me child support in over a year. And he's very lucky cause I never took him to court. It is such a toxic road. It brings up so much anxiety. I'm so done dealing with this."
At the time, Denise was mulling not going to the court and didn't have a lawyer.
She also reflected on her situation with her ex and her decision to not deal with it in the court system in interview: "I appreciate the f---ing advice, but if anyone knows Charlie it's me and I know how to handle it. It's not your family. It's mine."
Following her split from Charlie nearly 15 years ago, Denise has definitely moved on. On her own, she adopted a daughter, Eloise, in 2011, and later married Aaron Phypers in 2018, which was featured in Season 9 of RHOBH.
"Aaron and I have been through so much in our first year of marriage," she reflected in the Season 10 premiere. "The fires happened. We were living in hotels for four months. Now we're back in Malibu. I still do not feel settled, but we are still having sex every day, so that helps too."
However, as teased in the RHOBH premiere, things will turn tense for Denise within the RHOBH crew as gossip and drama about her life and marriage moves to the forefront of the conversation.
RHOBH airs Wednesdays at 8/7c.
