Cynthia Bailey Comments on Her Lawsuit with Peter Thomas
The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member offered an update on her ex-husband.
Cynthia Bailey is opening up about a lawsuit involving herself and her ex-husband, Peter Thomas. The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member addressed the legal matter with her ex-husband during a recent appearance on The Wendy Williams Show.
"Peter and I had an agreement," she explained on the talk show last week. "It was a three-year agreement, a contract, over a piece of property here in Atlanta. And he pretty much made the terms himself, and I was like 'OK, so in three years, I will sell this back to you and you pay me off, whatever.' That didn't happen. So, therefore, as soon as that date hit, then my lawyers just went into like, 'OK, well, he's in breach, and we're going to do everything we need to do to make sure you have the property again.' So it was as simple as that. It was a three-year arrangement, which I thought was more than enough time to settle what we needed to settle."
Cynthia then explained how she felt when the news of the legal matter went public. "I have to be honest, I was a little surprised when Peter even brought this up publicly. I don't talk about my ex. I don't like to talk about our finances, our problems that we had in the past. I've moved on. I wish him well," she said.
The RHOA cast member also shared an update on the last time she spoke to Peter and if the legal matter was discussed between them.
"Actually, his dad recently passed, and I reached out to him and to his mom and to his daughter that I'm close to as well, so we did speak. I wanted to obviously send my condolences. I did tell him that we could talk about it [the lawsuit] when it was a more appropriate time. It just wasn't obviously the time to really get into it," she said on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on January 10 (clip above).
During her appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, she also recalled speaking to Peter after his father's recent passing, calling her former father-in-law "an amazing man."
Cynthia and Peter finalized their divorce in 2017. Since then, Cynthia has found love again and remarried; she and Mike Hill said "I do" last October, and fans have been following their road to matrimony during Season 13 of RHOA.
