Peter Thomas' Recent Arrest in Miami Got Quite the Reaction from Nene Leakes

Cynthia Bailey's ex-husband Peter Thomas was arrested in Miami on Friday, March 1, according to The Associated Press.

Peter was arrested at Miami International Airport on a fugitive warrant from Louisiana where he is accused of writing fraudulent checks. The Associated Press reported that Peter was then taken to a Miami jail where he spent the night on Friday. As of Saturday morning, Peter was being held without bond, authorities confirmed to PEOPLE.

Peter said the allegations were false and that he will be "acquitted from any wrongdoing" in an official statement obtained by The Associated Press.

Cynthia married Peter in 2010 in a lavish ceremony featured in Season 3 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The couple separated in 2016, and their divorce was finalized in 2017.

Peter has continued to occasionally appear on RHOA after his marriage to Cynthia ended. He visited Nene and Gregg Leakes at their home earlier this season of RHOA.

Nene actually learned of the news of Peter's arrest for the first time during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen Sunday night (clip above). "Now that you are telling me, my reaction is wow. Amazing," Nene told Andy Cohen before adding, "I love Peter."

Nene and Gregg recently showed their support for Peter by attending the soft opening of his new restaurant, Bar ONE Miami Beach, in January. "I [love] these two people," Peter shared in an Instagram post that featured a photo of Nene and Gregg at the event.
