Dr. Contessa Reveals Behind-the-Scenes Details of Chef Cloyce’s Food: “Least Favorite Part”
Below Deck Sailing Yacht charter guest Dr. Contessa Metcalfe still had a lot of love for Chef Cloyce Martin, though.
While Married to Medicine's Dr. Contessa Metcalfe has raved about her time as a co-primary charter guest on Season 5 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, it turns out that there are some elements of her trip that she could've done without — more specifically, Chef Cloyce Martin's cooking skills and culinary choices.
In an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish following her appearances on Episodes 1 and 2 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, the doctor dove into her mealtime woes. As she put it, "There was a new chef — he is quite adorable — but his cooking skills left a little bit to the imagination."
Contessa also wasn't impressed with a couple of the dishes Cloyce opted to serve. "When we were presented with what I affectionately referred to as 'children's food,' [I thought], I cook better than this for my three kids," she joked. "But I heard he was new, so there were some growing pains."
Taking this into consideration, Contessa never felt the need to complain — and even now, she only sees the trip as a positive experience.
"You never want to be that person who ruins the trip for everybody else by being a complainer. So, you know, we came for the view, we came for the scenery, we came for the experience," Contessa explained. "And I would say of everything, probably the food was my least favorite part of the experience, but it was still a yacht, it was still the ocean, so no complaints."
"We love to travel in style, so this was absolutely amazing," Contessa continued. "I've always wanted to go to Ibiza, and I had this belief in my heart that I was kind of approaching the age of being too old to go, so it was nice to kind of be able to do it in an elegant fashion, so to speak. Because when we go on vacation, we believe in really letting your hair down."
And thankfully, that's exactly what she and her friends were able to do. "Being catered to every moment of every day, it was just an exquisite experience from the moment we stepped on the yacht," Contessa concluded. "It was just luxury, from the beginning to the end."
Did Contessa know about Daisy and Cloyce's drama?
As fans saw during the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 premiere, drama ensued in the galley between Cloyce and Daisy Kelliher when the chef's counts for who wanted what entrée were off. Luckily, Contessa told The Daily Dish that she and her fellow guests "didn't know" about the drama going on behind the scenes.
