Christian Siriano Designs Stonewall Day Shirt to Support LGBTQ Issues and Black Lives Matter
The Project Runway host and Stonewall Day ambassador's design will benefit this year's virtual event.
June 26 is Stonewall Day! The national day of awareness was created by Pride Live in 2018 to commemorate the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Riots, and this year’s virtual event will support the Black Lives Matter movement, as well as LGBTQ+ issues such as the rise of violence against transgender women, and particularly Black trans women.
The livestream will fundraise to benefit Trans Lifeline, The Ally Coalition, Brave Space Alliance, and TransLatina Coalition. Bravo’s Project Runway host Christian Siriano, who is a Stonewall Day ambassador, has also created a limited edition Stonewall Day Pride t-shirt, with proceeds benefitting the effort. Additionally, those looking to donate can also text REBEL to 243725.
Stonewall Day will be hosted by trans advocate and model Geena Rocero, and features an impressive lineup of guests. Former President Barack Obama will speak, and there will be performances and messages from stars including Taylor Swift, Donatella Versace, Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Chelsea Clinton, Ellen DeGeneres, Hayley Kiyoko, and more.
To tune into the livestream, visit Logo’s Facebook or YouTube on Friday, June 26 at 12:45 p.m ET.
