Christian Siriano Saved a Project Runway Designer From Elimination for This "Very Important" Reason

We just witnessed a Project Runway first. Christian Siriano used the first ever Siriano Save to keep an eliminated designer in the competition (spoilers ahead).

The judges decided to send Brittany Allen home after the designers were tasked with reinventing the tuxedo in the February 6 episode of Project Runway. However, Christian thought Brittany deserved another shot in the fashion competition. "I think Brittany lost her way in this challenge, but I think she's so talented and amazing that I want to save her," Christian told the judges after the elimination.

Karlie Kloss, Brandon Maxwell, Nina Garcia, Elaine Welteroth, and guest judge Thom Browne were all thrilled that Brittany would be getting a second chance. "Thank goodness for that Siriano Save!" Karlie exclaimed.

Christian surprised an emotional Brittany with the news in the designers' lounge. "You're very talented, your work is amazing, and you're gonna have to endure this a little bit longer," he said. "I've really thought about it, and your work has been so great for so many challenges, you deserve it."

Brittany couldn't have been more appreciative to be the recipient of the first ever Siriano Save. "The fact that he sees something in me, I have to show him that I'm worthy of the save, and I'm not gonna let him down," she said during the episode.

Christian opened up more about why he chose to save Brittany during the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen After Show on February 6. "Men's clothes is really hard, and I think if you've never done them before, it's kind of not fair to have left on that note," he said. "And she was a really good designer."

However, it wasn't just Brittany's talent that made Christian feel like she could benefit from more time on Project Runway. "But also — very important — she's a very respectful designer on this show, and not all of them are," Christian said. "I think that that was very important for me to keep somebody who I actually think could listen to advice later on in their career."

And yes, Brittany was so shocked when Christian decided to save her. "Oh my gosh, yeah," she said while serving as WWHL's guest bartender, along with the winner of the February 6 episode of Project Runway, Marquise Foster. "I owe him my firstborn child."
