Caroline Manzo on the Lesson Lauren "Had to Learn" with Markie and Internet Trolls
The Manzo'd with Children mom recently opened up about her own daughter's parenting skills.
Lauren Manzo Scalia took a brief break from sharing photos of her 4-year-old daughter, Marchesa “Markie” Scalia to social media last spring after experiencing some negative comments from Instagram users. Caroline Manzo recently opened up about the situation, sharing some new insight in an interview with Us Weekly.
“Her mama bear instincts kicked in,” the Manzo’d with Children matriarch explained. “I certainly understand that because there are some people out there that say very hurtful, unnecessary things.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum went on to share her opinion of “unhappy, unfulfilled” people who influenced Lauren’s decision to stop sharing photos.
“They don’t matter, and [Markie] brings joy to a lot of people and it’s crazy when you see these responses that say, ‘I was having a rotten day but this picture turned my day around,’” Caroline continued. “That’s amazing. And that’s the lesson she had to learn. She had to overcome that a lot herself growing up with all her weight issues and stuff like that, and now as a mom, she’s very protective.”
The proud grandmother also opened up about what Markie is like these days: “She just gets funnier and smarter. She is just an absolute delight.”
Lauren eventually returned to sharing heartwarming photos of Markie on social media, including a post she uploaded to wish the adorable tot a happy birthday on February 24.
"You are simple perfect. I'm the luckiest Mommy in the world," Lauren wrote. "I love you so much my big girl and I can't believe you're 4! Happy birthday, Markie!"
