Brittany Cartwright Made *This* Subtle Change Amid Her Split from Jax Taylor
The Valley mom made the change just days after announcing she and her husband were "taking time apart."
Brittany Cartwright continues to distance herself from Jax Taylor.
As pointed out by Page Six, The Valley mom quietly removed her husband’s legal surname — Cauchi — from her Instagram bio on Sunday (March 3). The text now reads: “Brittany Cartwright… Just a Kentucky girl livin in a beautiful world. Cruz’s Mommy.”
The update comes less than a week after Brittany announced she and her husband were “taking time apart.” Brittany also confirmed she had moved out of her Valley Village home while she and Jax reassessed their relationship and determined their next steps.

Brittany Cartwright on Why She Moved Out of Her and Jax Taylor's Home
“I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health,” she said during a recent episode of her and Jax’s podcast series When Reality Hits. “I won’t get into too many details right now because this is still very hard to talk about and I’m taking things one day at a time. I don’t know what the future holds, but right now, my focus is on being the best mom to [her and Jax’s 2-year-old son] Cruz. I love you guys. Pray for us. And everything will be just fine.”
Although Jax later claimed that Brittany had since returned to their home, the Kentucky-born mom suggested this wasn’t the case. She shed more light on her marital issues during a March 1 interview with TMZ, when she reiterated her decision to move out and revealed whether she was open to a reconciliation.
“This is definitely for my mental health,” she said about the move, which some have dismissed as a publicity stunt. “I think that’s been one of the hardest parts right now is that people are speculating that I’m doing something for this show (The Valley) coming out. No. Whenever you fight with somebody for so long, there’s only so much you can take and, you know, I deserve better, Cruz deserves better… I think that me moving out and taking space to figure out if this is what I want is the best situation for me right now...
"If he switches some things and changes some things about his life, then maybe we can get back together. But right now, I don’t know.”
Brittany Cartwright says she and Jax Taylor will continue to co-parent
Brittany was introduced to the Bravoverse in Vanderpump Rules Season 4, which began filming several months after she was introduced to Jax. The two got married in 2019 surrounded by friends, family, and other Bravolebrities, including Vanderpump Rules boss Lisa Vanderpump and her husband, Ken Todd; Vanderpump Rules OG Scheana Shay; and Southern Charm-er Shep Rose.
Less than two years after tying the knot, Brittany and Jax welcomed their first child together, a boy named Cruz.
“We want a good co-parenting relationship,” The Valley mom told TMZ last week. “We are gonna co-parent, we have businesses together [and] that’s very important. Podcast is still happening, our bar is still happening, the show is still happening. It’s just a lot going on right now.”
The Valley will premiere this spring on Bravo. You can get a first look at the cast, which includes fellow Vanderpump Rules alum Kristen Doute, above.
