Mercedes "MJ" Javid Reveals What It’s Like to Work with Mauricio Umansky at The Agency
MJ took a big step in her real estate career earlier this year, and she spilled the tea at BravoCon 2023 on hustling at The Agency with Mauricio Umansky.
Mercedes "MJ" Javid started a new career path this year, and she's learning from none other than The Real Housewives of Beverly Hill's Mauricio Umansky at his luxury brokerage, The Agency.
During the Renovators vs. Realtors live interview at BravoCon 2023, the Shahs of Sunset mom had only great things to say about her time with Mauricio so far.
What's the best advice Mauricio has given MJ about real estate so far?
“Their mantra is no a--holes," MJ said of those who work at The Agency at BravoCon 2023. "That, you’ll see when you walk into our offices. I love the mentality."
MJ also explained that she's learned a lot about real estate attitude from Mauricio. "No ego," MJ said at BravoCon 2023. "We’re in an industry that is a service industry. You go the extra mile. You don’t check your watch to see how early it is or how late it is. You do what you need to do to make the client feel like you are their number one trusted confidante period."

MJ first made the announcement she was joining Mauricio's team in February. What's more, according to her bio on the company website, MJ is “a consistent top producer with decades of industry experience and a lifetime’s worth of expertise in the Los Angeles market.”
“Mercedes Javid brings negotiation savvy, attention to detail and concierge-style service to The Agency,” the blurb continues. “Working from the Calabasas office, she primarily serves clients on the Westside.”
MJ isn’t the only familiar face to start working for The Agency recently. In February, it was announced that Kim Richards’ daughter, Whitney Davis, joined the Aspen office. As viewers of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills know, several of Kyle Richards and Mauricio’s family members are also employed by the company, including Kyle’s eldest daughter, Farrah Aldjufrie; Kyle and Mauricio’s daughter Alexia Umansky; Mauricio’s father, Eduardo Umansky; and Mauricio’s sister, Sharon Benton.
Million Dollar Listing New York agent Tyler Whitman also joined Mauricio's team about a month ago, to become the managing partner of The Agency Hamptons.
The Agency has continued to expand locations over the years, and in June 2022, it opened its very first European franchise, The Agency Netherlands.
