Bethenny Frankel opens up about her recent therapy session with a grief counselor on The Real Housewives of New York City.

A Time of Transition

Bethenny Frankel has always kept it real with fans of The Real Housewives of New York City, letting them into the most personal and intimate parts of her life. That has especially been the case this season, as the Skinnygirl mogul has been grieving her late fiancé, Dennis Shields, after his passing in August 2018.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New York City on Bravo Tuesdays at 9/8c and stream next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

We watched Bethenny seek help from grief counselor Dr. Norman Fried in Wednesday night's episode of RHONY, which seemed to remind some fans of the sessions she had shared in the past with her therapist Dr. Xavier Amador. You can see one of Bethenny's therapy sessions with Dr. Amador from Season 7 of RHONY, above.

One fan even asked Bethenny on Twitter what happened to Dr. Amador, as it's been a while since we've seen him sit down with her on RHONY. Bethenny explained on Twitter that Dr. Amador adopted three children and now lives in Pennsylvania.

As for her therapy session with Dr. Fried, Bethenny said that she found it to be beneficial to her as she continues to heal from this great loss. "The therapist made some points. Grief is a very difficult process but it can be healing [and] changes you," Bethenny told a fan who asked for her thoughts on divorce and death on Twitter. "My divorce has been more traumatic."
