Below Deck Sailing Yacht's Alli Dore Reveals the Sex of Her Baby

Alli Dore has big news to share about her baby. The Below Deck Sailing Yacht stew recently revealed the sex of her child on Instagram.

Alli shared that she will be welcoming a baby boy with boyfriend Benny Thompson later this year. "So excited to be a boy mum in a few weeks and I can’t wait to see @bennithompson become the most amazing dad to our little man," Alli wrote in a post on Instagram on August 8.

The post featured a photo of Alli and Benny with a big blue cake with the words "It's A Boy" written across it, and there's actually "a kind of funny story" behind the confection, according to the yachtie.

Alli went on to recount the humorous tale behind the reveal in her post. "I spent most of my pregnancy working away on a boat in the Whitsundays and Benny and I also lived in different states for months, so we didn’t get to do any celebrating of our baby. But when I found out the gender Benny was coming up to visit me when I had a few days off work between charters," she wrote. "My captain was amazing enough to sort us out a weekend on one of the islands so I really wanted to do a blue themed gender reveal surprise dinner and see if he would catch on to the blue theme throughout courses, then I wanted to arrange a beautiful cake as the final touch."

Alli said that she wasn't able to coordinate the dinner with the resort as she had hoped, so she decided to just surprise Benny with "a little balloon and a big breakfast spread" instead. "It was such a happy moment!" she gushed.

But at dinner that night, the resort unexpectedly brought out the cake for the couple, after all. "We were both shocked and couldn’t stop laughing because the gender reveal moment was well and truly over, but we are both way too polite and had to literally pretend it was this big surprise that Ben didn’t know about," Alli shared. "We got applauses from surrounding tables so I think our acting skills paid off, but when I look at this damn cake in this photo it always makes me laugh!"

Alli first shared that she was expecting in a post on Instagram on June 21, which she later opened up more about during the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 reunion, which also aired in June. "It's very exciting. It's scary, but exciting," Alli said while 20 weeks pregnant at the time of filming the sit-down. "Dani [Soares] and I are pregnant at the same time. It's so cool."

Dani, who welcomed her first child, daughter Lilly, in May, congratulated Alli in the comments to her latest Instagram post, as did Below Deck Mediterranean alum Tiffany Copeland, who gave birth to her first child, daughter Amelia, in July.

As Alli prepares to welcome her little one, she shared her hope that he cares for the ocean and all of its inhabitants as much as she does. "My baby is going to have such a special little ocean heart and I’m so excited to show them the world through the eyes of someone who wants to treasure our planet, not trash it. I’m so grateful to have found a partner in Benny who feels just as strongly connected to do this journey of parenthood with," Alli captioned a throwback photo of "one of my most special childhood moments" swimming with wild dolphins and seals on Instagram on July 13. "We may have a little ocean warrior-to-be on our hands, you never know."

Alli is also making sure her baby boy loves all nature, taking him on hikes "to the most beautiful places in Australia" this summer.
