Bethenny Frankel hasn't shied away from being open about how important her on-off boyfriend Dennis Shields was to her before his passing in August. And now Andy Cohen is offering up some more insight into their relationship.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New York City on Bravo Tuesdays at 9/8c and stream next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

“I mean, man, what a loss. He was a real, he seemed like a real rock and presence in her life," the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host told Us Weekly recently. "So I know it’s a great loss for her.”

Bethenny shared a similar sentiment earlier this month whens he shared how Dennis was by her side during the Season 10 The Real Housewives of New York City reunion taping. "He was with me at the reunion & the years prior. He was a genius who could talk about the show minutiae all day. He was my greatest supporter," she shared on Twitter with a fan, adding the hashtags #sweetassugar and #toughasnails to describe him.

Following Dennis' passing in August, Bethenny took to Twitter to thank fans for their support in the wake of her loss. "It’s hard to breathe & I appreciate you giving me the space & support to try to do so. It’s excruciating-sudden death is no closure & constant [questions] & memories. Our relationship is current so it’s painfully raw," she said in late August. "Trying to stay healthy & move through it [with] tears & close friends. Xo."
