This Story About Marge Sr., As Told by Son-in-Law Joe Benigno, Really Says It All
Margaret Josephs' mom, who frequently appears on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, is definitely a character.
Margaret Josephs' larger-than-life, fun-loving mother, Marge Sr., was definitely a topic of discussion during Season 9 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. But if anyone knows Marge Sr., it's her family, which includes son-in-law Joe Benigno, Margaret's husband. In fact, he shared a story during The Real Housewives of New Jersey After Show which perfectly demonstrated what a classy lady Marge Sr. really is.
"Marge Sr. was in the hospital and she almost died, she had a hole in her lung. She had an abscess in her lung. It was super serious, she could have died," Joe said. "So she's laying in the bed and Marge Sr. is very, very classy; she's always dressed to the nines... she looks perfect, even though she had a hole in her lung. I'm like, 'Oh, my god.' And she's got designer, all kinds of PJs, all that kind of crap and they tell her she's got to go and change because they have to go and hook her up. So she puts on a hospital gown but of course, she's almost got a designer hospital gown and they put the IV in and she's laying there."
So far, so good... until he got to this part.
"And after she went through two bags of IV, it's a lot of fluid, she's got to go to the bathroom... So Marge is like, 'Well, let me help you.' She goes, 'No, no, I'm OK.' She gets up like this, she walks like this, and her gown opens up and she's wearing a thong and I go, 'No! God!' And Marge is like this, 'Stop! Stop! Turn around!' And she's going, 'What's wrong?' It was like a f--king Gucci thong," Joe said.
