Dolores Catania Claps Back at Accusations She's "Playing Both Sides": "You Have No Idea"
The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member is officially clapping back at the haters as Season 14's drama comes to a close.
Dolores Catania was known as "a girl from Paterson, playing Switzerland, and dating an Irish man" throughout The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 as her tagline teased — and she took this role seriously.
The RHONJ cast member did her best throughout the season to stay friendly with all of the cast members, even while they had their feuds. But this doesn't mean that Dolores was "playing both sides" of the group.
The mom of two addressed her neutral position during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Sunday, Aug. 4. She admitted she makes her own decisions and chooses to confront people to their faces — not behind their backs.
Dolores Catania addresses her role in RHONJ Season 14 cast feuds
Dolores has been friends with cast member Teresa Giudice since they were in their early 20's. But she's also remained close with Teresa's enemy, Margaret Josephs, too.
During her appearance on WWHL, Dolores said she gets backlash from both of them because of this. "Are you kidding me? You have no idea," she said.
But she doesn't "play" around, especially on either side of the fence. "I try to keep the peace," Dolores explained on WWHL, as seen in the video above. "Playing both sides of the fence is turning on one behind their back. I do nothing behind anybody's back."
"I want to keep the peace," she added.
Dolores Catania says "she can sleep at night" being out of the drama
Staying neutral has helped Dolores have peace within herself. During a May appearance on Jeff Lewis Live, Dolores said that her RHONJ cast members have to "get over" her not picking a side. This is because she can "sleep at night knowing I have never turned on anybody, and I've been a good friend to everyone."
"So if they don't like it, just tell me to my face, don't stab me in my back, and speak to me about it," she added. "And we can gracefully part as friends, and you can never talk to me again. And I'm OK with that."
RHONJ Season 14 will conclude with a special episode
There is still more to come from the RHONJ cast and Dolores after that explosive Season 14 season finale dinner. RHONJ Season 14 will conclude with a special episode titled "Off the Rails" where the entire RHONJ cast will reconvene in two separate rooms to rewatch the finale.
Viewers will get to see her and the rest of the cast's reaction to the finale and hear what they have to say about the finale supper. The special will air on Sunday, August 11, at 8/7c on Bravo.
