Craig Conover Hints at Big Future Plans for His Newly Renovated Backyard
The Southern Charm homeowner seems to have some delicious ideas in store for his recently redone Charleston yard.
Craig Conover is a master sewer — and he’s pretty skilled at sowing too. The Southern Charm homeowner has been transforming his backyard into an outdoor oasis over the past several months, putting his gardening skills to good use!
Now the Charleston space has nearly everything one could need for a perfect day of lounging outdoors and sipping a Trop Hop or two. But Craig seems to have even more plans for his flower-flecked, pool-outfitted yard, and those plans have to do with breakfast.
Craig Conover reveals plans for his backyard
On a weekend in mid-June, the Sewing Down South founder shared several photos of his blossoming garden. Posting snaps of his Egyptian star flowers, rocktrumpets, peppers, and snap peas, he wrote of the plants: “Some of my favorite things (in my backyard).”
Shortly after showing off his flowers and fresh vegetables, Craig hinted at plans to bring in a new fixture. Sharing a photo of a carton of eggs, the expert gardener wrote: “One day these will be from back there.”
Does this mean Craig plans to introduce a chicken coop to his backyard? Only time will tell. But there’s no doubt that he would put his egg bounty to good use. In addition to gardening, sewing, and working as a lawyer, Craig is an accomplished home cook — and he recently renovated his kitchen.
Last August, the Southern Charm cast member revealed that his new kitchen (which was previously the “sewing room”) was officially complete. “Excited to show off my finished kitchen!” Craig captioned an Instagram post showing his black matte fridge, white Thomasville cabinetry, and marble countertops.
“Lots of cooking and entertaining to come.” And perhaps, lots of farm-fresh (or yard-fresh) omelets.
Craig’s Pool and Hot Tub
Chickens aside, Craig’s yard is already looking pretty plucky. In an Instagram post from May, Craig showed off his bubbling hot tub. A firepit was blazing nearby, and a freshly mowed lawn and palm trees formed an idyllic lush backdrop.
Craig has a pool too — and he’s making sure it stays spic-and-span. In another recent post, the Sewing Down South founder asked his followers for feedback on a pool robot. (Yep, that’s a thing.) “I’ve been meaning to ask everyone… if you have a pool robot that you love, please let me know what it is,” he said. “Because a lot [of pool robots] have incredible reviews, but then they have some bad reviews too.”
And speaking of reviews, Craig’s girlfriend, Paige DeSorbo, gave his yard a glowing one when she shared a peek at some new pool accessories.
In one post, Paige showed a creamy white lounge chair under a fringed umbrella. The chair is made a little homier with a couple of Coral Greek Key pillows ($70 apiece) from Sewing Down South. “Obsessed,” Paige captioned her summery snap.
The fashion contributor also showed a close-up look at Craig’s new patio prop. “Found the cutest umbrella for Craig’s backyard,” she wrote, linking to the Amazon product.
