Mercedes "MJ" Javid Debuts a Gorgeous, Darker New Hair Color

Mercedes “MJ” Javid is brunette — again! After trading her dark strands for a vibrant, light blonde look back in December 2020, the Shahs of Sunset cast member has returned (quite literally) to her roots.

In a March 16 Instagram, MJ showed her latest hair transformation from start to finish. In the beginning of the clip, MJ's long, platinum tresses were on display as her glam team, including hairstylist Brandon Liberati and hair extensions specialist Victoria Casciola, brushed and sectioned them. Voluminous layers framed her face while blonde strands cascaded down her floral robe.

Seconds later, MJ showed off her new look — and it was shorter, darker, and absolutely stunning. Her rich, raven locks were parted down the middle and fell to her chest. MJ winked at the camera as she flaunted her revamped hairstyle while wearing a brown lace low-cut bra. "Blonde is fun.. but brunettes," MJ wrote.

The Real Housewives of Miami cast member Marysol Patton took to the comments to share her love for MJ's hair. "Hottest mami ever," she gushed.

MJ has been an open book when it comes to her haircare tips and tricks. In April 2020, she shared her step-by-step hair routine: "First, I use just a generic water bottle. I spritz my hair. I have tape-ins from Hairtalk USA. I brush them out, and boom," she said. To keep her hair "protected," she relies on Drybar's Prep Rally Prime & Prep Detangler. "The reason why I love this one is because I just have to put in a couple of spritzes and then it has the UV protectors and the vitamins and the Biotin that your hair needs. So later on, when I walk my dogs and my babies and myself, my hair is protected. And as you can see, it’s shinier, and it really, really keeps my hair together.”
