Wait, So Miley Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter Were a Thing *Before* Their Respective Splits?

It seemed like we blinked and Miley Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter were an item, like, two minutes after each of them split from their respective exes, Liam Hemsworth and Brody Jenner. But Brody's former friend and current The Hills: New Beginnings antagonist Spencer Pratt says that Cyrus and Carter have been hanging out in a special way for a long time.

We recently learned that Jenner and Carter had a polyamorous relationship on The Hills, with Jenner summing it up nonchalantly as, "We like what we like."

“When Brody and I first were together, we were young, we were crazy, we were, like, you know, basically just trying to have the time of our lives. So we did a lot of things in our relationship that, you know, I certainly wouldn’t say I regret, but the level of gossip that I feel happens in the group — it just makes me angry,” Carter said in an on-screen interview.

Spencer Pratt is having none of it, however, and has dropped several levels of shade in response.

"It’s tough for me to listen to Kaitlynn complain about people talking about her allegedly open relationship with Brody when we know she had a thing going with Miley," Pratt told Cosmopolitan. "She already had something going on with her when these scenes were filming — maybe not physically, but definitely emotionally. No one’s judging you for whatever it is you and Brody do when he’s not sleeping in his car. We just don’t want people to lie about their lives."

Liam Hemsworth has filed for divorce from Cyrus; despite a lavish Bali wedding, Jenner and Carter were never legally married. Meanwhile, Carter and Cyrus are reportedly cohabitating and sending Brody bouquets of weed for his birthday, so everyone seems to be getting along just fine over there.
