Kim Kardashian Opens up About Her Emotional Last Time Seeing O.J. Simpson: “I Started Crying”
Her late father, Robert Kardashian, was part of the O.J. Simpson's legal "Dream Team."
Kim Kardashian's late father, Robert Kardashian, was part of O.J. Simpson's "Dream Team" of defense attorneys in his 1995 murder trial. Simpson was so close to the family that he has even been accused of fathering Kim's sister Khloe Kardashian, though he and Kris Jenner have long denied that.
So, do the Kardashians ever interact with Simpson? Kim revealed on Jonathan Cheban's FoodGod: OMFG podcast that she saw him right before he went to prison in 2008 for kidnapping and armed robbery.
"I think me, Kourtney, and Khloe were in Miami in a club and we ran into him in the VIP section," she recalled. "It was behind a stage or something, I don’t even know what club it was at. I started crying. It was emotional, I think."
She also thinks highly of his kids.
"I’m still somewhat friendly with his children," she said. "I don’t really talk to them, but I did connect with his son a few years back and I just have respect for them. Their lives must be extremely hard to really go through that. So I always just try to keep to myself on that issue and not bring anything up for them because, you know, every time someone does it’s super traumatic."
Kim plans to take the bar exam in 2022 in hopes of becoming a lawyer (there's a way she can do it without law school) and has opened up about how her father's place on Simpson's "Dream Team" inspired her.
At the time, she was obsessed with the case and even had a little sneaky look behind the scenes, including inside Simpson's Louis Vuitton bag that once was thought to contain the murder weapon.
"That bag was sitting at my dad's house. I remember I went through it," she told GQ in 2016. "The news was like, 'Where is this Louis Vuitton bag?’ And I'm like, 'Oh, it's upstairs.'"
She admitted going through the bag, but didn't see any weapons: “Just toiletries and clothes and golf clothes. Just random stuff. I'm pretty sure it's, like, still in — probably in my dad's storage.”
