E! Is Counting Down to the Emmys with an Epic Day of At-Home Fun
Join Nina Parker and the rest of your award-show favorites as you wait to see how Bravo's Top Chef does at the 2020 Primetime Emmy Awards.
The 2020 Primetime Emmy Awards are almost here! The show will look a little different this year, due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, but it is still sure to be full of plenty of buzzy moments. While you wait to see if Bravo's Top Chef Season 17 will take home the award for one of the whopping four Emmys it’s nominated for, E! has a whole lineup of exciting day-of award show coverage for you to tune into. Here’s what you can expect.
Starting at 4:30 p.m. ET, check out E! Countdown to the Red Carpet: The 2020 Emmy Awards. Host Nina Parker, who also led Bravo’s roundtable discussion, Race in America: A Movement Not a Moment (which you can check out a preview of, and hear her discuss on The Daily Dish podcast, below), will be joined by Brad Goreski and Laverne Cox to chat about all of the Emmys-bound stars we just can’t stop watching, from Zendaya to Jennifer Aniston. Erin Lim will keep you up-to-date on all things social media, such as the best reactions from celebs discovering they’ve been nominated, to the must-watch celebrity quarantine content.
It’s not an award show without some red carpet commentary, so at 6:00 p.m. ET, gear up for E! Live from the Red Carpet. Hosts Giuliana Rancic and Vivica A. Fox will be live to get into all things Emmys—except, this year, instead of a red carpet, it’s technically live from whatever kind of flooring happens to be in the homes of the guests.
After you’ve watched the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony at 8 p.m., head back to E! At 11:00 p.m. for E! After Party. This time, Nina Parker will be joined by Morgan Stewart and Hunter March as they break down all of the buzziest moments from the epic award show and feature interviews with the biggest winners of the night.
Top Chef received four Emmy nominations this year for Outstanding Competition Program, Outstanding Directing For A Reality Program, Outstanding Picture Editing For a Structured Reality or Competition Program, and Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program (Tom Colicchio and Padma Lakshmi). Outstanding Host for a Reality Competition Program will be announced Saturday night at the Creative Arts Emmys and Outstanding Competition Program will be announced Sunday night during the live telecast.
