The 25 Most Epic Moments Of Competition-Show Fashion, Ever
Tyra Banks isn't the only stylish judge out there.
Tyra Banks's stylists have a lot of looks to pull! The top model has signed on to be the next host of America's Got Talent—and she's returning to America's Next Top Model at the same time.
Though she's obviously no stranger to the world of fashion, she'll have to glow from head to toe—or "H2T," as she used to say on ANTM—just to maintain the high bar set by other hosts and judges of reality talent competitions. Need a refresher? Let's take a look back into the wonderful, oftentimes wild world of competition-show fashion.
On America's Got Talent, Tyra will take over for former host Nick Cannon, who had a lot of fun with his suits on the show and was never afraid of bold color. Look at this purple stunner from 2013.
She'll have dapper, quirky shoes to fill.
Heidi Klum introduced incredible mini dresses to the world of competition-show judging back in the day on Project Runway.
And, the queen of Halloween has even gotten a little goth with it—check out those nails!
Mel B. has also served incredible looks on America's Got Talent, putting that Scary Spice image to rest once and for all. Silver has been her color for the past couple of seasons (peep her in 2016, below).
She's also given us nothing but inspo with her hair and nails. We love this luxe ponytail and red French manicure from 2013.
2013 was the same year that brought the Nicki Minaj vs. Mariah Carey feud to American Idol. It also meant catching weekly wig changes (and furry Louboutin awesomeness) from Nicki, and quintessential diamond-dripped glamour from Mariah.
We know they'll never be friends, but this faux almost hug with fellow judge Randy Jackson still gives us a twinkle of hope. Awww. . . awkward.
Let's not forget Jennifer Lopez, who brought enough style to American Idol to make up for what seemed like 50 seasons of Simon Cowell's plain v-neck shirts. She went full Las-Vegas showgirl last year, played with masculine style in 2015, and gave us classic J-Lo in 2014.
All these ladies need to bow down to Paula Abdul, though. Her crucial early seasons as a judge—from the first auditions in 2001, all the way up to 2008—set the standard for style and set her on a long career as a talent- competition judge here and abroad. Werk, queen of this genre!
Of course, the stars of The Voice can't be ignored. You know Miley Cyrus would never stand for that.
We haven't seen such stylistic irreverence on the show since CeeLo Green appeared with his kitty when he judged the first season back in 2011.
We can't wait to see how Tyra takes style to the next level on America's Got Talent. And, she's not the only model heading (back) into the world of reality TV. Hailey Baldwin is set to host James Corden's rap-battle series Drop The Mic.
