Go Green! Kristin Cavallari is Helping to Launch A Plant-Based Makeup Line

Kristin Cavallari is no stranger to product launches. The Hills alum has tried her hand—successfully!—at shoe design and jewelry design. So, why not try something new? For her latest project, Kristin is diving into the world of lip glosses, foundations, and blush.

But, there's something different about these products. Dubbed Savvy Minerals by Young Living, the makeup collection is the first from Young Living Essential Oils. (Young Living, in case you're not familiar, is a Utah-based company that specializes in organic essential oils.) Comprising everything from bronzer to eyeliner and a translucent finishing powder, the makeup is all plant-based, and it's made without fillers and synthetics.

So, it made sense that the brand tapped Kristin to help spread the word. An advocate of natural living, Kristin has written books filled with healthy recipes; she also incorporates essential oils into her day-to-day wellness routine. (She told Allure, for example, that she never travels without lavender oil.) Still, the lifestyle pro felt that her makeup bag could use some cleaning up.

When speaking to Bustle, the mom of three admitted: "Makeup is the last area of my life to transition to the 'clean' side." Not only is Kristin digging the natural ingredients that make up Savvy Minerals products—she's impressed with the color. "I love the Determined eyeshadow — it's a pretty brown with subtle shimmer. You can build to the depth, using either a light dusting that is very natural or you can smoke it out. You have options," the star told Bustle.
