Kyle Richards Says *This* Aspect of RHOBH Season 1 "Would Not Fly Today"
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member admitted to making one notable change after the show's premiere season.
Kyle Richards' fashion and beauty moments over the years have always been memorable, from her metallic Barbiecore vibe on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 12 reunion to her recent laid-back cowgirl aesthetic in her everyday life.
According to Kyle, however, her style wasn't always so elevated. During a recent Amazon Live session, Kyle reflected on her past interview looks on RHOBH, revealing why Erika Jayne's haute couture-centric styles upped the ante.
"When she first joined the show, her confessionals...I was like, 'Wow! Those are like, costumes!" Kyle said with a laugh. She then pointed out on how much the Housewives fashion and beauty trajectory changed seemingly due to Erika's arrival.

"My first interview look I had a plastic hair clip in my hair; that would not fly today!" Kyle admitted with a smirk. "I think I tried to match it to my shirt... it was not good."
Kyle also revealed that she "sometimes" did her "own makeup" for the interviews back then. "Mm mm mm, not good!" she joked.

In a July 2022 interview with Vogue, Kyle had similar sentiments regarding how her personal style has evolved since she joined RHOBH.
“Sometimes, when there are flashbacks to the first season, I’m horrified by what I’m wearing,” she shared. “However, there are some items that I’ll always love, like good jeans, sneakers, sweaters from The Elder Statesman, and kaftans. People make fun of my kaftans, but I think they’re really chic and remind me of yacht holiday photos by Slim Aarons. Although I adore handbags, power-shoulder dresses, and jewelry, my style is actually extremely casual.”
