A Bakery Created an Incredibly Detailed Game of Thrones Life-Size Tyrion Lannister Cake That Cost $27,000
The video of the bakers putting it together is mesmerizing—just watch.
A new season of Game of Thrones is upon us (finally!), and fans are celebrating in all kinds of ways—with viewing parties, themed dinners, an upcoming HBO exhibition tour, and of course, lots of Ommegang's Game of Thrones-branded beer. But one bakery in Dubai just upped the ante, to the tune of $27,000.
Dubai's Broadway Bakery recently created a four-foot high cake featuring Tyrion Lannister sitting on the Iron Throne (wishful thinking, or do they know something we don't??). As reported by Entertainment Weekly, the cake weighs 70 pounds and cost $27,000. That's quite a sum, but just watch the mesmerizing video of the bakers carefully crafting the astounding cake. No detail is overlooked, from the scar on his face to the stitching on his boots.
Seriously, watch it—you won't be disappointed.
No word on how many bakers it took or how many hours they spent on the cake (probably longer than it takes to read all of George R. R. Martin's A Song of Fire and Ice series), but judging from the video, we'd say that $27,000 was worth every penny.
As for whether we'll actually get to see Tyrion sitting on the Iron Throne, well, guess we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed this season.
