See Chef Rachel Hargrove's Incredible Take on a "Seafood Extravaganza"
According to Captain Lee Rosbach, the Below Deck chef's feast "has definitely got the 'vaganza.'"
Last season on Below Deck, viewers saw some members of the crew share very strong opinions on what defines a "seafood extravaganza" after chef Kevin Dobson planned to cook the fish he hoped the charter guests would catch that day. As Kate Chastain put it in the video above, "Even if they do catch something, it'll just be extra to the extravaganza. You gotta provide the 'vaganza.'"
On the show's January 12 episode, guests once again requested a seafood extravaganza, this time with chef Rachel Hargrove in the kitchen. Explaining her meal for the night would include conch [fritters] and beef, among other items, Rachel declared: "I'm just gonna smash some lobster on top of that. It's amazing 'cause it's extravaganza."
Captain Lee Rosbach, who was dining with the guests that evening, was blown away by the spread, which also included shrimp cocktail. "I've never seen so many dead lobster in one spot," he said in an interview during the episode. "This seafood extravaganza has definitely got the 'vaganza.'"
As he noted to the guests, "I love these mini cast iron pans," it seems they were equally impressed with the meal. "That's a 'wow' factor," one said, while another added, "Oh, that's delicious."
Captain Lee recently praised another one of Rachel's mouthwatering dishes. When asked by a Twitter user for his favorite dish a chef has ever cooked, he replied: "Rachel's French Toast is over the top."
Another buzzed-about breakfast item cooked by Rachel came on the show's December 7 episode. Following a guest's "eggs Halifax" order which left many viewers puzzled, Rachel clarified on Twitter that the meal is "Benny with Smoked salmon."
