Here’s Why the New Boat Is Unlike Any Other Yacht Captain Sandy Yawn Has Run
The Below Deck Mediterranean captain shared “the cool thing about motor yacht Home.”
Captain Sandy Yawn has worked on a variety of vessels over the years, but when the Below Deck Mediterranean boss stepped foot on her new yacht for Season 7, she quickly realized it would be a totally different experience from any she’d had before.
“The cool thing about motor yacht Home, it’s a hybrid,” Sandy explained in an interview on the show’s July 11 episode. “It’s really futuristic looking. Everything’s white, stainless, ultra-modern. [It’s the] first boat like this I’ve ever run.”
With that in mind, Sandy was quick to explain the importance of keeping Home clean as soon as the crew arrived for their first day. “I got a floor thing,” she said. “I don’t want to see dirty floors.”
In the video above, chief stew Natasha Webb gives BravoTV.com a tour of Home. As she explains, the “most impressive part of the boat” is a guest cabin that has “massive windows everywhere” and a bathroom so big “you can literally have a party” in it. There is also a “beautiful crew mess area” and a spacious lounge. In the clip, Mzi “Zee” Dempers takes over the tour to show the sun deck (complete with sun beds and a hot tub where “dirty things happen”), before Captain Sandy gives a detailed look at the bridge.
“The boat’s really sophisticated, and I actually like it,” Sandy says in the video. “It’s fast.”
