Andy Cohen Reveals How He Prepped His Bachelor Pad for Baby & Cohabitating with Wacha

Andy Cohen has one of the most coveted cribs in Manhattan: a stunning duplex apartment created from three combined units in the picturesque West Village. So when it came for Andy to convert his bachelor pad into a family home with an actual crib for his baby son, Benjamin, he put a lot of thought into it.

Andy recently told Forbes he decided it was best to keep the decor low-key for his new son. So, he swapped out adult furnishings in a guest room and replaced them with a suitable crib, glider, and other items from DucDuc. And he decided to keep wallpaper in place. 

"It’s this beautiful, photographic wallpaper of a sunset over an ocean. I didn’t go crazy,” he told Forbes. That’s not to say he won’t decide to make bigger changes at home down the road as Benjamin grows. “I don’t know what he likes yet. He’ll grow up and tell me what he likes.”

One major factor Andy took into account was ensuring his beloved dog, Wacha, did not get edged out. Much of the home is still accessible and comfortable for his beagle mix pup. In fact, he even took time to properly introduce the two: “Ben was born in L.A. and Wacha was staying in Brooklyn at his dog walker’s apartment. I got Ben situated here and after a week of us being at home [and settling into a routine], I brought Wacha back into the house. I didn’t make a big deal out of the fact that there’s a baby here. I let Wacha figure it out and acted normal about it. They both found their way.”
