Get a Peek Inside Katie Maloney & Ariana Madix’s Sandwich Shop, Something About Her
The Vanderpump Rules business partners have an “amazing” and “cute” space for their forthcoming eatery.
Katie Maloney and Ariana Madix’s sandwich shop, Something About Her, is set to open later this year, but viewers were able to get a special sneak peek at the space on the April 26 episode of Vanderpump Rules.
Though the restaurant was still in its beginning stages, it already received a bit of an upgrade since we saw it last, with finished floors and fresh drywall.
“Wow, it looks amazing in here! So many possibilities!” Ariana gushed as they entered the space, while Katie noted that it already looked “so cute.”
“It’s so exciting just to be here and look around and see how much potential this space has,” Katie noted during a confessional, adding how they had done “a little bit of work on the space” at one point.
She continued: “We’re gonna have a sandwich empire… and it all starts now!”
After Lisa Vanderpump came by to check in, the ladies sat in a circle in the center of the shop to discuss their aesthetic vision.
Ariana talked about having a lot of (fake) flowers outside to “really grab people,” while Katie said she pictured a “really cute [...] nook moment” by the window for a “sweet” touch.
“I want it to feel cozy and inviting [so] people want to hang out here,” Katie concluded.
While she was impressed by their ideas, Lisa was quick to ask them about “budget[ing]” for what they wanted, pointing out some of the difficulties “the Toms” (Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz) were having with the opening of Schwartz & Sandy’s.
Ariana stepped in to relay how they already had “investor meetings” coming up, and further clarified what the duo had in mind for their passion project.
“Katie and I need to put some of our own money into this business because it also shows investors [that] we’re serious about it,” she shared during a confessional. “But I don’t want it to get to a point where we’re watching our bank accounts just dwindle into nothing while we try to get a restaurant open.”
While fans may have presumed that Lisa would be one of those Something About Her investors, she cleared up the misconception during a March episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
When Andy asked the restaurateur on behalf of a viewer at home if she was “still planning on investing in Something About Her if you haven’t already,” Lisa explained, “I was never planning [on investing].”
“I’m there to support them,” she continued. “I don’t want to be in business with every single person who works for me, but I’m there to support them.”
