Jax Taylor Reveals the Surprising Job He Held for the Longest
The Vanderpump Rules cast member spilled the tea on his first job, which he had for three years.
Vanderpump Rules viewers know Jax Taylor as a seasoned bartender. But as it turns out, the father-to-be is also pretty handy behind the grill.
When he appeared on Katie Maloney-Schwartz's Dear Media podcast, You're Gonna Love Me, Jax opened up about slinging burgers while he was in high school. "McDonald's was my longest job," he shared. "I worked there three years."
And he enjoyed the perks. "I ate McDonald's when I worked there all three years, I never got sick of it," Jax said. "Got a discount, we got money for grades — McDonald's was really good. And it was like a cool thing to work at McDonald's."
Plus, Jax's position was particularly cool. "I was a red shirt, which means I got to work at the grill," he said: "Red shirt is the hot ticket because that means you can go anywhere in there, and you can touch the money and the grill." (On the flip side, "black shirt" employees could only take food orders.)
Alas, Jax's tenure eventually came to a halt. "I got fired at the very end," he said. "I didn't show up for Easter Sunday... [and] I was misbehaving there a little bit too much. I gave my friends all free food."
Still, the Michigan native only has love for his former employer. "That's the longest job I've ever had, and it was a lot of fun," he said fondly. And he still loves burgers today. In fact, when Jax turned 39, his then-fiancée Brittany got him a burger-shaped cake.
