There's a Major Change Happening in the Top Chef Kitchen for Season 19
The Season 19 cheftestants had a pleasant surprise in store when they stepped inside the spacious Houston kitchen.
Last season of Bravo's Top Chef started off grander than ever, thanks to what Padma Lakshmi described as a "larger than normal" kitchen. Season 19 — which premieres Thursday, March 3 at 8/7c — will be even better. As the exclusive Bravo Insider video above shows, the Season 19 cheftestants will face off in a massive Houston kitchen that will also come with a few exciting new surprises.
In addition to featuring incredible art, multiple secret doors (for production), glass-door refrigerators, and a "really unique" pantry, the Season 19 kitchen will be stocked like never before. "The biggest thing that we've changed this year is we've allowed the chefs to bring homemade ingredients and give us a list of items they wanted us to purchase," supervising culinary producer Sandee Birdsong explained in the video.
Of course, the space will be ready with "every condiment and oil and vinegar available" as well as "every utensil," Birdsong said. "We get the best here. Everything's really, really fresh." To put it lightly, Birdsong declared, "It's a pretty great kitchen to be in."
Press play on the Bravo Insider video above to get a full tour of the stunning kitchen before Top Chef returns with a supersized Season 19 premiere on Thursday, March 3 at 8/7c.
