As New York City reopens in stages, the Top Chef judge has reinstated outdoor dining at Craft.

Back in March, Tom Colicchio made a painful decision in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. "Today I’ve made the hardest decision I’ve ever faced in my 40 years in this industry, to temporarily close Craft and our family of restaurants in NYC and L.A as well as our corporate office after dinner service this evening," the Bravo's Top Chef  judge wrote back then.

How to Watch

Watch Top Chef on Bravo and next day on Peacock.

But as New York City starts to reopen, the chef has invited diners to come back to Craft. In a June 24 Instagram post, Tom shared a photo of his staffers, wearing masks as they stood in the kitchen of the New York City eatery.

"Glad to have the team back together. We’re serving Craftbar classics starting tonight at Craft. Come by for some al fresco dining and socially distant good times," he wrote. The hopeful news earned some loving emojis from Padma Lakshmi, who added three purple hearts to the comments.

Top Chef alum Kwame Onwachi has also reopened his D.C. restaurant, Kith/Kin.

But as Tom said on a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen (clip above), he thinks the restaurant industry still has a long road ahead. Watch the video to hear his thoughts on how COVID-19 might change dining out as we know it.
