Brittany Admits Her Feelings Toward Kristen's Boyfriend, Luke, Have Changed
The Valley's Brittany Cartwright revealed where she stands with Kristen Doute's man, Luke Broderick, after his heated exchange with Jax Taylor.
Brittany Cartwright says she’s big a fan of Kristen Doute’s boyfriend, Luke Broderick — but that wasn’t always the case.
The Valley. mom made the admission earlier this week while addressing the on-screen beef between Luke and her estranged husband, Jax Taylor. During the first few episodes of The Valley Season 1, Jax made it clear he didn’t approve of Kristen and Luke’s relationship, and questioned whether they wanted to start a family “for the right reasons.”
Brittany addressed the drama in a recent interview with Us Weekly, explaining why Jax was so invested in Kristen’s romantic life and had doubts about her future with Luke.

“I think the reason was is because Kristen had just gotten out of a relationship and hopped right into another one and then was already wanting to have kids,” Brittany said, referencing Kristen’s 2022 breakup with Alex Menache. “I support her [and] I want her to be a mom. It’s the best thing that ever happened to me. So I definitely support that. But I think that’s where Jax’s coming from because he was like, ‘This is happening super fast. She just was talking about it with her ex, and now she’s talking about it with the new one.’”

The mother of one confessed she also had questions about the romance, but has since grown to “love” Luke.
“We weren’t very close to Luke at the beginning, so when we started filming [The Valley], they were still kind of in a new relationship, but he also was in Colorado a lot,” she told the outlet. “So even I will admit, I didn’t know Luke very well when we started filming. I know him a lot better now. I love him. I think [he and Kristen are] great [together].”

So, where do Jax and Luke currently stand? According to Brittany, they’ve come a long way over the past year and are now “good friends."
Fans got a taste of the tensions in The Valley series premiere on March 19, when Luke confronted Jax about being blocked on social media. Jax insisted he didn’t know what Luke was talking about, and dismissively told him, “I’ll do my best to unblock you.”
The drama escalated in Episode 2 after Jax informed Luke he had invited Kristen’s ex, Alex, to guy’s night.
“What’s the point? Why?” Luke asked his castmate. “Why would I try to be friends with my girlfriend’s ex?”
Although Jax claimed he was trying to integrate Luke into his friend group, Luke theorized Jax was simply trying to get under Kristen’s skin, alluding to their long and complicated relationship that was seen on Vanderpump Rules.
“Kristen has told me that her ex was very difficult, and their relationship still triggers her. Jax knows her triggers,” Luke said in an episode interview. “Jax knows how to make her freak out. I don’t think it’s something that friends do to friends.”
