Monica Garcia Opens Up About Her Company, Brea Baby
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast member is sharing all the details on her baby product business.
Season 4 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is just getting started, but there is already new drama, new friendship dynamics, and a new addition to the cast: Monica Garcia.
Ahead of the show’s Season 4 premiere on September 5, a press release with Monica’s official cast bio noted that she’s “an excommunicated ex-Mormon” and “is raising her four children on her own.”
“To add to her plate,” the bio continues, “she’s also dealing with divorcing her husband for the second time.” In conclusion, it states: “Blunt, opinionated, and never afraid to speak her mind, Monica has no problem saying what she’s thinking, even if it lands her in hot water with the other women.”
While it seems we’ll learn more about Monica, her family, and her relationships with the other women as the season unfolds, during Episode 2, she opened up about an important part of her life: her baby products business, Brea Baby.
What is Brea Baby?
In an episode interview, Monica explained, “I started a company called Brea Baby selling baby swaddles, blankets, [and] crib sheets.” According to the company’s website, Brea Baby creates “stylish, unique, organic, [one-of-a-kind] pieces both you and your little ones will love for years to come,” and “every swaddle purchased helps swaddle a baby in need.”
Why did Monica Garcia start Brea Baby?
In the same interview during Episode 2, Monica opened up about starting her business. “At first it started as kind of a hobby,” she said. “Now, going through a divorce, it has completely turned into a lifeline for me and my daughters because I don’t have the same resources that I had while being married.”
On the company’s website, Monica wrote, “I started Brea Baby while quietly sitting on my living room couch one night. Tears running down my face, completely exhausted from working my 9-5, and feeling like a failure as a mother. Desperately searching for a way I could help provide for my family, but stay home with my young children at the same time.”
“Swaddles have always had a special place in my heart,” the note continues. “For years I have loved swaddling my little ones while rocking them to sleep. Whether it’s for comforting, or for cleaning, for sleeping, or for playing peek-a-boo! I hope our swaddles become a staple in your home and provide your little ones with comfort for years to come.”
