Lisa Barlow Shares an Unexpected Update on Her Son Jack: "Thank Goodness"
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City mom is feeling grateful after her teenage son decided to change up his look.
Lisa Barlow's son, Jack, has The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast members talking. On the one hand, the 19-year-old surprised his mom — and her castmate Heather Gay — when he announced his plans to go on a two-year- long Mormon mission trip. (Hear Lisa discuss Jack's missionary work in the Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen clip, above). And on a different note, Jack surprised Lisa when he made some changes in the hair department.
On Season 4, Episode 8 of RHOSLC, Lisa opened up about her son's future — and his newly frosted tips. "I'm realizing that Jack doesn't have any value in anything I say or feel," Lisa shared in an emotional interview."We're in Jack's world right now. It's all like, Jack's doing what Jack's doing. Like ... Jack just got this vibe that he needed frosted tips, I don't get it. Why are we re-living the '90s?"

Well, back in 2023, Jack's frosted tips are no more. In a November 7 X post, Lisa shared a photo of her eldest son with his frosty hairstyle, and wrote: "These frosted tips - are not missed." When a follower commented: "Jack just needs a purple shampoo moment," referring to the kind of shampoo that can even out brassy tones, Lisa responded. "This."
However, Jack may not even need to worry about brassiness. Lisa added in the same thread: "He's back to his natural hair. Thank goodness." Take a look back at Jack's frosted tips in the photo below.
All hairy jokes aside, Lisa is extremely proud of her son. Before he left for his mission in September, she took to Instagram to share a loving tribute to Jack.
“You are about to do some really amazing things,” she wrote. “My whole heart is breaking with happiness and love and this insane feeling that I’m not going to be able to breathe until you are home. I miss you every second of every day and I know God will overwhelm you with love and protect you. Being your mom has made me a better person. My love for you is more than my heart can take. God made you so good.”
Meanwhile, Lisa has spilled the secrets behind her own gorgeous head of hair in the past. “Smooth. Strong. Shiny hair with [Nicole + Brizee],” the mom of two wrote over a February 28 Instagram Story that put a spotlight on her sleek tresses. Lisa went on to credit the brand’s “core line” shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in conditioner for her “ends” ($39 for the bundle).
