Gizelle Bryant Reacts to the Cash Bar at Candiace Dillard Bassett's Party
The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member got real about shelling out for cocktails at her friend's anniversary bash.
On the Season 5 premiere of The Real Housewives of Potomac, we saw Candiace Dillard Bassett and her husband, Chris, celebrate their one-year anniversary. (Yes, this gorgeous wedding was now over a year ago.)
At the "Denim and Diamonds" theme party — held at Washington's glitzy venue La Vie — there were all kinds of lovely touches (see the clip above). But along with a photo booth, crisp white floral arrangements, and lavish cupcakes, there was something rather unexpected: a cash bar.
So, how did guests feel about paying for their own drinks? We know where Gizelle Bryant stands, at least. When the EveryHue Beauty founder appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on August 2, she didn't mince words when asked to weigh in on the anniversary party's cocktail situation.
"The cash bar is always a no-no, OK? If you have to have a cash bar, then don't have the party," she said. On the episode that features the bash, we learned that the food and beverage minimum for renting out La Vie on a Friday night is around $22,000.
